Dave Kinser: High Fly’n, Low Dive’n Rinehart Racing Super Fan
Pilot, motorcyclist, scuba diver, father, renaissance man. Dave Kinser is all of those things and more. The Western North Carolina native is the kind of guy that you just can’t help getting wrapped up in a conversation with. With a plethora of interesting hobbies and an office at the front of a corporate jet, Dave is just about as full of life as any other human on this planet. I met Dave shortly after signing on with Rinehart Racing, but was already familiar with him over social media. Little did I know that he was a local guy with a long history with our brand.
Dave grew up just south of Asheville, NC near the Tail of the Dragon; motorcycle mecca on the east coast. Learning how to ride at a young age, Dave learned in the dirt, riding his Honda Trail 70 through farm fields and winding mountain trails. With such a young start in such a haven for two wheeled enthusiasts, it was just a matter of time until Dave graduated to street bikes. Growing up near one of America’s most notorious roads, Dave started off riding sport bikes, but the heart pounding growl of the Harley-Davidson V-Twin came calling and in 2003 he bought an Electra Glide Classic and with it, his first set of Rinehart pipes.
This love affair with American iron would have to be postponed however, as kids, family and a solemn promise to his mother to hang up his helmet and keys until his kids were grown took precedent. Dave’s mother backed that promise by agreeing to leave him money in her will to buy two brand new HD’s, knowing his kids would be grown and he could once again take to the open road knowing his family was secure.
In 2017, after the passing of his Mother, Dave made good on her promise and purchased a 2017 Ultra Limited Low and 2017 Street Glide Special, promptly equipping them with Rinehart 4” slip-ons and stage 4 kits right off the showroom floor. But two touring bikes weren’t enough to fulfill Dave’s ultimate passion for motorcycling and he returned to scoop up a 2017 Softail Fatboy S and a Dyna Low Rider S for his son, both of which got black Rinehart 2-1 systems to match each bike’s blacked out styling.
Aside from riding with his son and spending as much time in the wind as he can, Dave has is also private pilot, flying for one of the most premier private jet companies in the world. On top of being a top-notch pilot, Dave is also a scuba instructor and owns/operates his own dive shop here in Asheville, NC. If there ever was a “renaissance man” Dave is definitely it, carrying with him a radiant passion for life and his hobbies that is infectious in all the right ways.
“There’s just nothing like the variety of pipes, the sound and the rideability of Rinehart exhausts”, said Dave, “I only ride Rineharts because of their performance and quality”. Dave isn’t alone in his sentiment either. Across this great nation and around the world Rinehart customers keep coming back for these very same reasons, but luckily for Dave he has developed a personal relationship with one of his favorite brands and we certainly appreciate his enthusiasm. Our customers are our greatest asset and with thousands of amazing people like dave riding with our name on their bikes, we cannot thank them enough for evangelizing our message and our dream of giving you the riding experience the OEM’s can’t.
